I sat down to watch the Pres. at 6:30 tonight, he started at six, I prerecorded in case there was a commercial to skip over. Obama could have grabbed some awesome dollars and better ads then the super bowl. That income may have covered the cost of his inauguration ball. Unfortunately he didn’t sell himself to Bud Light nearly as well as he spun the fairy tales he sold to the American citizens.
I say it was a great speech; he hit many, many of my concerns like he was Robin Hood, hitting bull’s eyes all round. I lulled my mind and body, breathing in the wondrous words flowing over me. Then it ended, ‘Bama man was done with his speech. I came out of the fog and was kicked back into real time. How much more stunning can reality be then to consider the state of the union.
Oh well, ‘Bama man certainly gave us more then we hoped for, reorganization of federal departments, clear the national debt, cut the slack in the military, boost schooling, straighten out global trade, Dems and Reps work together. Generate new technology so we can be world bosses again, until the Chinese rip off the technology that took us multibillion bucks to come up with, they got it for pennies on the dollar. Hmm, what about the Fed departments that control Salmon? Do they do crabs? I live in salmon country so this is personal. There are many more state departments to deal with. California has tried for decades to get our water systems sorted out, it isn’t going to happen. The water maze will never go down without a fight.
How about cutting the military? Did you see those high ranking officers frown about the gay ruling? I thought they all ate a lemon drop. I don’t know where the military might cut but they should start with pulling at least 50% out of 30,000 troops in Germany, and Guam is a tropical vacation. If we drop a couple mega bombs, not nukes, on N. Korea and plaster their nuke stuff it would take decades for them to get back to where they are now. Enough time for S. Korea, Japan and Taiwan to build some military strength. 'Whoa there pilgrim, we do not start fights, we end them.' Mea culpa, I got carried away. How does that work in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan? 'That is classified, sir, ask your congressman.'
You folks know that the subject of government is a bottomless pit. So I will quit for now. But I will not quit on you, I stay the course like the soldiers at Valley Forge.
